International Labour Day 01 May

International Labour Day

On 1st May 2024, Doon School Srinagar celebrated International Labour Day with a heartwarming event that paid tribute to the school's support staff. The function, held in the school's auditorium, was filled with gratitude and appreciation as students and staff came together to honour the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to keep the school running smoothly.

The event began with a solemn Dua, setting the tone for a day filled with respect and reverence. Following this, students from LPD performed a series of plays and skits, each designed to highlight the important roles that the support staff play in the daily life of the school. These performances not only entertained the audience but also served as a poignant reminder of the hard work and dedication of the school's janitors, maintenance workers, gardeners, and other essential personnel.

Senior students took to the stage to deliver speeches, expressing their deep appreciation for the support staff's unwavering commitment to the school. They spoke about the staff's honesty, diligence, and the positive impact they have on the school community. The senior students shared personal stories of how the support staff had helped them during their time at Doon School, emphasizing that their efforts often go unnoticed but are deeply valued.

The Principal and Vice Principal also addressed the gathering, offering words of encouragement and gratitude. They acknowledged that the school's success would not be possible without the consistent efforts of the support staff, who often work behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The principal highlighted the importance of recognizing and celebrating the contributions of these dedicated individuals, and encouraged everyone to continue showing their appreciation beyond Labour Day.

As a token of kindness, the students presented gifts to the support staff.

As the event concluded, many attendees remarked on the importance of continuing to appreciate and support those who often work in the background. The day served as a reminder that every role, no matter how seemingly small, is crucial to the success of a community.
